Zone 9 Overview
The APHA rule book provides that the states and provinces will be divided into zones. Before 1984 there were only four zones. The zones were reformed in 2002 by the APHA Executive Committee at the 2002 APHA Convention and Zone Nine was made up of clubs in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida- with the boundaries specified in the 2003 rule book. During this period Zone-O-Rama rules were put into effect. The reduced territory in the zones helped make shows more feasible. APHA has zone awards and AjPHA officers are elected from each of the zones.
In the fall of 2103 the Zone Nine Committee was reformed to benefit the residents and club members of those who reside within the zone. The Zone Nine Committee polled exhibitors and they voted to move the 2024 show to Ocala's World Equestrian Center.
